Hello!
I'm trying to wrap my head around how tag filters work when listing titles under the Comics tab. Say I'm looking for cyberpunk comedy. I tick the Humor checkbox and get a selection, then I tick the Cyberpunk checkbox and, instead of getting a shorter list of the titles that are both Humor and Cyberpunk, I get a longer list of the titles that are either.
At first I thought that the logic would be what I expected, because if you check a tag with few titles, for instance Theatre, most other tags disappear, hinting at a prospect of refining your search. Am I missing something?
Thank you!
@Leo - the logic for facets is "OR", not "AND".
When you add more you expand the result set!
Thank you @Christopher.
I eventually concluded that it worked this way but was still hoping for a workaround because the initial logic is boolean and, not boolean or. For instance:
Time travel: 45
Zombies: 119
Tick the Zombies checkbox, the results are:
Time travel: 1
Zombies: 119
I assume that an and logic caused the decrease from 45 to 1 . There is 1 story with both facets. And I'm very curious to find that one story with time traveling zombies, so I tick the Time travel checkbox. Alas, the logic switches to boolean or and the numbers reset.
I'm not sure I'm making sense. Anyway, thank you for this wonderful platform! I keep exploring it whatever the search system provides :)
hi @Bohdi - in general you turn paywall on by turning on paid when you create the series or via the advanced -> monetization settings tabs. That said, looks like your comic is flagged as AI generated and as such, you will not be able to monetize with paywalling or selling the download. As a heads up, in the reading experience itself, you will also not be able to solicit donations since the comic is AI generated.
Hope this clarifies!

@MikeHoncho1012 It's loading fine for me. Can you try refreshing your browser and/or cache?
@MikeHoncho1012 Can you let me know which browsers, Devices, and OS's you are using? I won't be able to look into it today, as it's a Federal Holiday, and I'm technically out of the office, but I can look into this once we return to office tomorrow. (I'm mobile myself atm).
@MikeHoncho1012 Awesome, thank you! Sorry for the trouble, and if it happens to resolve over the next 24 hours or so, just let us know!
@MikeHoncho1012 Awesome~! Thank you for letting us know!
I'm considering doing a series exclusively to be posted on the Global Comix site. Since I plan on just having this series posted here, I guess I wouldn't need an isbn number. My question is, if I posted few issues of the series for free would I be able to charge for issues later down the road? Or if a series starts as free it must remain free. Thanks. Paul.
@pkscomix Hello there and welcome to GlobalComix! You can change the status of your comic from free to paid at any time, or even vice-versa! You can also set up things like donations and PDFS (for traditional page format at this time) for sale as well!
You are also able to custom set which pages are free at the beginning if you would want to offer free previews once your content is paid. Hope this helps!
@perizan They're not necessary to publish but a nice bonus for mobile readers.
Go into the release and click on the edit button of a page to view it. Once there, simply press the 'F' key to enter frame mode (your cursor will turn into a cross). Click and drag to create the frame. Repeat as many times as needed for the page. You can manage or delete frames from the list on the left.
I'm in the process of publishing one of my stories here on Global. The work is currently unpublished and it states that I am missing frames. I would like to add them and would like to know how they work. Do I draw a square around every panel on each page or do I just add one frame on each page? Also I have it set up where the first 10 pages are free. I saw that it stated I needed to set up how to receive a payment. I'm not sure how to do that. Also is there anything I have to do on my end to set up the pricing for the book or the pages? If anyone knows how to do these things I really would appreciate the help. Thanks, Paul.
@pkscomix
1. The frame tool is intended to be a frame around each panel. It is not mandatory and purely optional. Here is an article explaining more about frames. https://globalcomix.com/news/details/507/creator-tips-and-tricks-panel-to-panel-mode-and-frames
2. To set up receiving a payment, you will need to go to your creator settings > payout settings > and add a method of payment.
3. For the pricing, paid page read prices are based on the GlobalComix Gold membership. There is nothing you need to do to price that. The only pricing that you would need to worry about are PDF downloads, which you can find information here about setting that up: https://globalcomix.com/news/details/457/creator-tips-and-tricks-setting-up-pdf-sales-and-bundles
Hope this helps.
