We couldn't resist. Let's do this ONE more time and celebrate the amazing comics that topped our list for 2020. The titles mentioned below are a combination of the most read and most impactful stories in our community this year, and we wanted to give you the whole list in one go. And it's important to recognize that these only represent a small fraction of the stories on GlobalComix, and there are so many amazing creators and comics to check out. We hope that this list serves to elevate the creators below, and as a portal to the other countless titles from creators around the world.

1. Year Zero, AWA Studios, (cc/ @WillGraves)

Ben Percy (Wolverine) and Ramon Rosanas (Star Wars: Age of Resistance) team up to present an epic tale that offers a global look at the Zombie Apocalypse. A Japanese hitman, a Mexican street urchin, an Afghan military aide, a Polar research scientist, a midwestern American survivalist – five survivors of a horrific global epidemic who must draw upon their unique skills.

3. The Resistance, AWA Studios, (cc/ @WillGraves)

J. Michael Straczynski – creator of Babylon 5, co-creator of Sense8, and writer of beloved runs on The Amazing Spider-man, Thor, and Superman: Earth One – returns to comics teaming with Mike Deodato Jr. – the blockbuster artist of The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Infinity Wars. Together they plant the flag for a new universe of heroes and villains.

6. Onami, Art Crumbs, (cc/ @AhkwardKat)

Pon, a clay figure is made human as an offering to the gods. It doesn't go as planned and he is cast to the bottom of the ocean. A wandering spirit named "Ohma" finds him and assists in helping him back to the surface and fight Amat, the god who rejected him as an offering.

Freaks & Gods comic book is a unique blend of horror, sci-fi, and adventure that you will not soon forget! 10. Blood Stained Snow, Genji Otori, (cc/ @GenjiOtori)

Blood Stained Snow takes place in a world ruled by dragons. Only a few chosen humans are allowed to act as the dragon’s judges and death men. Feared for their madness and brutality – they are called Dragoons.

Theatrics follows the story of fallen-heartthrob Rudy Burns. Set in 1920s New York, it follows Rudy as he goes from the glimmer and glitz of Broadway to the down and dirty gyms of the emerging boxing culture of early 20th century America. But what would cause the world's biggest theater star to give up the star-lit stage for the blood-stained one?

Widowed as a young woman, Ruth leaves behind everything she knows and follow her bereaved mother-in-law to Bethlehem. While Naomi rails against God for his seeming abandonment of her family, Ruth holds only a quiet, and sincere faith that God has a plan. A young Mexican couple narrowly escapes the Juarez Cartel by fleeing across the border into Texas, only to be run down in the desert by the Cartel’s most brutal thugs. Rescued by a mysterious local who takes them to the safety of his family’s ranch, the couple soon realize their hosts have more than just skeletons in their closet.

16. The Kill Journal, Failed Superheroes Club, (cc/ @FSC)

The Kill Journal is a tale of Revenants and the Survivors who hunt them. Revenants are evil spirits back from the dead, wielding chainsaws and machetes, and their victims, the ones still alive, are taking a stand. Led by a half-mad preacher, they're ridding the world of these monsters before they become one themselves.

18. HAPPY SODA DAZE!, Joshua A.L., (cc/ @joshuaal)

A monthly comedy/ slice-of-life series following the daily lives of a group of first-years at a high school called Shark Bait Academy, situated on a group of islands. Uploads around the middle of every month, always on a Friday!

A young and ambitious baker loses her cafe in a disastrous fire, but sees none of the insurance payout. In a desperate attempt to get her life back on track, she turns to smuggling illegal goods through her cake deliveries for fast, but dangerous cash.
