GlobalComix is proud to announce a complete redesign of the web reading experience. We learned a lot of lessons about delivering an unparalleled experience while building the GlobalComix app, and we’re excited to start bringing that back to GlobalComix.com with the rollout of our new web reader.
Redesigned User Interface
A modern user interface design allows us to provide all the details you need clearly and concisely. We've collected all the vital information in a splash overlay, with more details available by clicking/tapping the info button at the bottom of the screen.
Want to know what genre, theme, or tags are set for the book you’re reading? You can find those in the comic vitals without the need to visit the comic profile page.
Zero Distractions
We’ve cut through the noise by hiding all UI elements while you’re reading. You can still access them easily, but when you're reading, we want your focus on that.
In-Reader Series Details
If you want more information on the series you're reading, you can access that without leaving the reading experience. You can even scroll through available releases, as well as related series.
Dig into the details, then seamlessly jump back into reading the release.
Add to Library
We’re introducing the concept of your reading Library on the web. The reader is the first place you’ll see it, but we plan to roll it out to other pages on the website as we update them.
This will allow you to set reading statuses per series, track updates to books you read more quickly, and discover new stories from those creators.
Comment While Reading
Are you in the middle of a release but want to leave a comment about the page you’re on? Do so quickly by bringing up the overlay and tapping/clicking the comments button.
Share your thoughts, then close the overlay to resume the reading journey.
Easily Purchase PDFs
If a PDF is available, you can purchase it within the reading experience by bringing up the vitals overlay. Get right back to reading as soon as you've finished the transaction.
Want to try out the new reader? Browse through over 7,000 series and start reading one today!
We're confident this new reader provides a more delightful experience, helping you get immersed in the story without being bogged down by clunky UI elements.
We would love to hear your thoughts, so please don't hesitate to share feedback with us.

I really like how the new web reader looks. My only meaningful feedback concerns the PDF purchase option: It seem that if the comic creator has donations active, the donate button that will show up instead of pdf purchase. Is it possible in a future update to either, 1. have both donate and pdf purchase buttons visible? or 2. have the creator be able to select which shows up when people are reading? Otherwise i'm psyched for the new reader!

Once you hit the "End of Comic" page, am I missing something or do you have to go back 1 page to get the menus again for search, filtering, etc?

@jakanapes You should be able to click/tap the center of the screen to bring up the overlay. That will include the navigation.
To help troubleshoot, though, can you share a direct link to the page you're having this issue on?

It's the web view, discovered I can click on the comment button, then cancel that and then the nav shows. It's any comic I've tried so far in the one page at a time view. Both FF and Chrome.

As an example. Using the left to right reading option

@jakanapes Are you on mobile or desktop? The browser and mouse back buttons work like the mobile device back button does in the GlobalComix app. Both will take you out of the reading experience and back to whatever page you were last on.

desktop. Not a super huge deal, there are a few workarounds, I just found it odd that it wasn't working like the actual pages
