I am Beef!

I write and draw Uneven Keel, which you can read full chapters of here on globalcomix (https://globalcomix.com/c/uneven-keel ) or in standard MWF page-by-page style on the main site (https://uneven-keel.com).

I've been working on it for a while - it follows the titular winged protagonist, Keel, as he deals with the aftermath of his home burning to the ground. It's a slow waltz through trauma, relationships, and redemption. There is also a secondary protagonist, Laki, whose eyes we get to see through every other chapter. The two have similar tales and are meant to reflect the other.

In order to be able to keep my upload pace, I prefer a looser, sketchy style. I'm not sure how to add images to forum posts - otherwise, I'd show off my boats!

4. God, well, it's about four people who work for a giant evil space cooperation where they're forced to do horrible things every day to stay alive and the different ways they cope with that. Mostly through comedy and through their friendships with each other and also less healthy ways - rationalisation, emotional detachment, drugs, obsession. I'd compare it to M*A*S*H in terms of tone and Star trek/the empire in star wars in terms of aesthetics.

It’s a story about a Cuban American widower who, after profound tragedy, takes a vigilante role to fight back against crime in the urban parts of Saint Louis and protect her home in Union City. The story unfolds with drama, mystery, and telenovela twists. I have been working on it since the beginning of this year, and I want to take the series toward 90s gritty cinema with Latin-inspired lore.

My name is Emma, I'm a writer and occasional artist, my collaborator and illustrator is Kachi Lee. It's basically the satirical bastard child of Ender's Game and Blood Meridian, with a little Starship Troopers and 40k thrown in for fun. The story follows Dulphi, a patriotic, money-hungry and ambitious cadet who slowly realizes that the recruiters for YEBRA (the company that owns the rights to her DNA) might actually be a bunch of genocidal lairs rather than the honorable bastions and defenders of humanity they make themselves out to be. She realizes that her mod-line is nothing more than a bioweapon designed to fight wars humanity could never win naturally and that she must either adopt the zealous depravity of her fellow soldiers and lose herself completely or sacrifice everything she ever dreamed of becoming in order to turn the fist of the empire against itself before even God begins to fear his creation.

The nicest way I can describe the main villain is a horrid combination of Jack Horner and Judge Holden. Completely depraved and unapologetically evil but at least she makes jokes before using your skull as a piss pot. (Or worse.)

It's all part of a broader series of stories set in the same universe at different points in time, so there'll be more after this current book wraps up.

Can't currently add images but the art is pretty top notch if I don't say so myself. (It takes us 4 months to put out an issue for a reason.)
