Marketing

Just looking for some ideas for marketing my series. I've got the first issue out and would love to get more eyes on it. Have any of you had any success with gaining more readers with any particular strategies?

I actually have written an entire series of blog posts about this very thing! I'll give a list here (in order I suggest reading them). Everything from:

Speaking of, can you share some insight on how you achieved a successful Kickstarter campaign?

Thanks for the tips everyone. AlchemistJay, I think in my case it was surrounding myself with a great Twitter community of comic book fans, and more than that, a lot of luck. I had a few people who were familiar with a previous series I wrote who backed. I'm also very fortunate that I come from a pretty small town that heard a local was making a comic book and all pitched in to help.
I think the most important lesson I learned from the whole thing is, go into it with a lot to show. Next one I do will have a finished cover, 8 or 9 completely finished pages to share, and all of the reward tiers fully completed. (I know that sounds obvious to most people, but I was a real amateur on that first go around. lol)

That series that ArtCrumbs wrote is a big help for me since I'm solo.
