Re: entertainment vs world building

You make some good points @Sane, I guess by action I mean more like a Steve canyon than a Hi&Lois.
I feel the funeral is important for how my characters deal with the loss of their friend and how it affects them.
Am I making the comic for myself or the audience...a bit of both.

Re: The REAL Reason Superhero Movies Don't Work Long Term

The public gets tired of any genre if they see it too much. think back to long ago there were westerns, musicals, gangster movies, big budget action films with the lone cop, slasher films and slowly they disappeared and reappeared sporadically. superhero stories in comics usually are one comic long we get character development over the course of the series but a lot of marvel films have the one movie origin and do a good job without needing 8 to 10 one hour long episodes. look at the guardians of the galaxy 1 or the first ironman.

entertainment vs world building

I have a webcomic and one of my characters is presumed dead. my comic is a more action oriented comic but i want the characters to have a funeral for their missing or presumed dead friend. im wondering should i even have that story or just have it off page. no real action takes place in the story its mostly world building or character driven i guess.

or should i shoe horn some action in ?

Re: question for creators: how do you usually plan your comics?

@Tofutush I pretty much plan my comics out like you. i always have the germ of a idea in my head for a comic story so i write it down on a word document. i'm trying to get better at developing a real system
