Creator Wednesday: 8 Indie Creators You Must Follow

Kevin Community • May 4, 2022

Wednesday's are traditionally the main day for new comic releases, and while that isn't necessarily true on GlobalComix -- creators release updates and new titles all week long -- this is still a special day for the comics industry.

But rather than talk about new releases, we felt it's the perfect time to celebrate the creators behind those new releases. With that in mind, welcome to a new weekly series here on GlobalComix, where we'll provide recommendations for creators to follow.

Why follow them? You'll get notifications any time they release new content on GlobalComix. Let's get started with this week's list.

Andy J. Clarke

Andy is a writer and illustrator of Science Fiction and Fantasy. His debut series, FLUX, released on GlobalComix this past January. It's now up to 5 chapters, and the first issue is completely free to read.

FLUX is currently one of the most popular titles on GlobalComix this week. Give Andy a follow and discover why so many are enjoying his work.

Very Gay Comics

The creator duo of Raven and Lily joined GlobalComix at the beginning of this year. Under the banner of Very Gay Comics, they've released more than 100 pages of The Very Gay Adventures so far.

Follow Very Gay Comics and be among the first to know when new pages of their daily comic release.

J.KBorealis

Another creator new to GlobalComix this year is J.KBorealis. Their Sci-Fi series AinoloniA - Return to Parascythe offers up a highly detailed manga art style. This all supports a compelling post-apocalyptic story centered around a city that rises above all else.

Follow J.KBorealis to receive updates on new releases for AinoloniA - Return to Parascythe and any other titles they release in the future.

SirK!

Speaking of the apocalypse, SirK! has taken GlobalComix by storm since publishing their first release of BaDoom at the beginning of February. The series follows Gasolina and her trusty companion Krunk as they navigate an ecologically hazardous post apocalyptic America

Follow SirK! to get notified when new chapters of BaDoom release.

Steph Williams

Steph Williams is a comics industry veteran that joined GlobalComix this February, publishing her sitcom-esque Living Heroes -- a story that blends the 90s TV show Living Single with of some of her favorite comic book characters. It became an instant hit on GlobalComix.

More is surely to come from Steph Williams, so give her a follow to stay updated.

Alin Laphel

Alin Laphel describes themself as "An artist trying to discover what it means to be an artist." Alin has maintained an impressive release schedule -- not through any contractual commitment -- but because they enjoy telling stories.

Their manga Offtask has an amazing 50 chapters so far. Follow Alin Laphel to stay updated on what's next.

Bjekkergauken

When we're talking about maintaining a release schedule, Bjekkergauken has to be a part of that discussion. They've published an incredible 277 releases in the Vápnthjófr saga since joining GlobalComix just under 2 years ago, with many more on the way.

If you enjoy fantasy stories, make sure you're following Bjekkergauken to stay on top of all the new releases.

Studio Alchemy

Our last spotlight for this week goes to another stalwart on GlobalComix: Studio Alchemy. Based out of North East PA, they have a number of manga/comics in the works. Their series SPLICER has consistently been high on the popularity lists every time a new release comes out.

If you're a fan of Sci-Fi manga, Studio Alchemy is a must-follow.
