I’m not very satisfied with my comic

The title explains itself. I’ve been wanting to continue my
comic, but I just feel so sad and upset about it. I don’t like it very much, and idk what to do. I want to redo all the chapters, but I also want to keep them so I can look back on my progress. It doesn’t help how I aspire to be a famous author, and want this comic to succeed and be popular. But again, I feel like it isn’t good enough nor will it ever reach ppl at all. I know I should be patient, but how am I supposed to be seen if nobody sees my work? :/

I say always keep trying. Even if you feel like your art isn't good enough, it's still an expression of YOU. I think that's important. You can always keep the original chapters but also redo them separately. Also, it's VERY rare that one of us gets famous(edit: its also very luck based. Just being really good might not be enough to get views). While it would be great for thousands of people to see your work, you have to make sure that you are making something that YOU care about because if you don't get famous you want to at least end up proud. Edit 2: if you're worried about money maybe look up specific strategies about how to promote your comic. Sorry. I'm not too knowledgeable on that front.

Hi there, as a creator, I've been in this position many times before. From my perspective, you have a few options:

1. You can go on a hiatus for a bit and explore your feelings towards this particular comic. If it isn't bringing you joy anymore, you can move on to the next options.

2. Pause that comic for a bit longer and try working on something else. You are not, and should not, feel forced to continue something that isn't bringing you joy. It could be that the comic isn't the one to work on right now. Working on something else will continue to develop your skills, build out a portfolio, and could give you something to be excited about, reigniting that passion for creation. Your previous work will always be there for you when you are ready to return. My manga Godsbane has been through multiple redo's, and it's more popular than it ever has been.

3. Lack of views on a comic could be a lot of things. It could be a lack of social media promotion (I don't recall seeing it on our socials, are you tagging us so that we can share it?), it could be something about the comic that people don't like (which sucks, but it's a possibility), it could be that it's a gem, but isn't being seen yet. It's likely a combination of these things. I'm not sure how many comics you've made yet, but it's pretty rare that your first, second, third comic is the one that takes off and makes you popular. Sometimes, those comics need to exist for many years before they start gaining popularity. Similar to those who want to get popular on YouTube, or Instagram, there's only so much that posting does, and sometimes, time and effort into promotion/consistency will help it take off.

Ask yourself how much work you are putting into ALL aspects of being a successful comic creator.

Are you consistent with production?
Are you consistent with posting on time/somewhat predictably?
Are you consistent with promotion?
Are you consistent with quality of the pages meaning size, not pixelated, etc. Not neccesarily drawing ability, but changing the style constantly can affect it.
Are you consistent with branding on socials? (username/handles same or similar, links provided for people to find it, etc)
Are you posting to more than us, are the majority of your readers going elsewhere?

There's lots of things to consider when asking how you can reach your goals. Take some time to think these over. If you'd like to talk to me 1:1 on these, always feel free to DM me here from my profile. : )
