The Devil That Wears My Face, 32 pages - Published by Mad Cave Studios, (cc/ @chrisfernandez)
The year is 1740, and the Vatican is in turmoil. Grappling with a profound crisis of faith, outcast exorcist Father Franco Vieri is dispatched on a mission of grave importance — to rescue a Spanish nobleman from the clutches of the sadistic demon known as Legion. But when the exorcism goes tragically wrong, Vieri finds himself trapped in a stranger’s body… Equal parts Face/Off and The Exorcist, Ringo Award-winning writer David Pepose (Moon Knight: City of the Dead, Savage Avengers) and Bram Stoker Award-nominated artist Alex Cormack conjure a harrowing tale of terror.

Stunningly and deliciously evil! The gritty artwork fits this nightmare of a tale perfectly! Can you imagine not having control of your own body? Or worse a demon walking around in your body, while you are held captive somewhere else? Truly terrifying concept. I'm extremely excited to check out the next issue. The effects, and visual representation is different than those I've seen in the past, and there are so many dramatic angles and unique paneling choices that really bring this comic to life. If you like demons and exorcisms gone wrong, this is the comic for you!
Fantastic work Team Mad Cave, I'm eagerly awaiting the next update! (Tthanks for the adding a preview!)
Scratcher, 117 pages - Published by New Friday - A Lev Gleason Imprint, (cc/ @AllisonD)
A tortured tattooist sets out to save her clients - who are being possessed by the tattoos she gave them - and in the process ends up saving herself. Suspenseful and well-crafted, a flickering yellowed globe swinging on a cord between loneliness and blood.
Story and Art by John Ward and Juan Romera
As someone with a few tattoos myself, I understand the trust we put into our tattoo artists to keep us safe. However, I don't think demonic spirits from our tattoos are something we are thinking about! I love the premise behind this one, it's incredibly unique and something that I've never seen before. I don't think I've ever read a comic about tattoos before. We need more! I loved the absolute turnaround in the story that completely turns it on its head. I was NOT expecting that at all!
The art is super fun, and it's a unique topic for a comic. It's a great ride and makes me appreciate my tattoos maybe just a bit more that they came demon-free. Amazing work, team!
Little Mizzi Muffet and the Spider King, 532 pages - Published by catfish, (cc/ @catfish)
Mizzi Muffet is an average 17 y/o girl. She is well liked by everyone, however it is no secret she severely afraid of spiders. One day Mizzi is confronted by the demon Spider King who insists he gives her three favours in exchange for her hand in marriage. She rejects him until strange, supernatural things begin happening in her town, putting her family and friends in danger. In desperation, she must then ask for the Spider King’s help rescue them from peril, using up his favours one by one...

Weirdly terrifying and cute at the same time?! What magic is this? We love seeing romances that aren't your typical swooning affair, oh no. Mizzi is in NO mood to marry this man, er, Spider-King. I don't particularly fear spiders, but there were a few moments that even I cringed realizing what I was looking at! So many spiders, it was ALL spiders!
It's drawn beautifully well, and I love the little crown on his abdomen in his spider form. That's super creative to make him easily identifiable. I also love the character designs, the sheer number of decorations in her hair and her adorable little sister. It's so cute! I'm about four releases in, and I'm not gonna sleep on it anymore. Horror manga this adorable AND scary doesn't come by often, so please, keep up your amazing work. I'm incredibly impressed!
Percy's Lullaby, 63 pages - Published by Miss Fester, (cc/ @MissFester)
Set in the Southern US during the 1970's, a shy boy named Percy resides in a small town infamous for its swampy surroundings. A local urban legend tells of a horrific monster that lurks in the swamps, and Percy discovers more about it than he ever wanted to.
Story and Art by Miss Fester
Another wonderful story from Miss Fester, this one features Percy, who just wants some friends. I loves seeing a man character with such a contrasting appearance to his father. It really sets the tone for how he emotionally feels compared to everyone around him. I'm sure his looks don't make that any easier. I read the entire current catalog on one sitting. Percy;s father had a very interesting reaction to the swamp creature, and not wanting to see Percy go there, so there's SOMETHING going on here.
The artwork also definitely vibes with the 1970's themes, colors, and even the dialogue! My favorite scene was the psychedelic musical bit. That art was simply STUNNING and so different from what I typically think of when thinking of this creator's work. It's beautiful!
As mentioned before, Miss Fester is one of my favorite creators on the platform and I read everything I can, so knowing the previous works, there's gotta be a twist or surprise in here somewhere around the corner. It's too... suspicious. I can't wait to find out, but no rush on this, please. You're incredibly busy with all the works you make. I'll happily wait for the next update, Miss Fester! Another wonderfully dark comic for us to enjoy!
