Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

Prose and art come together for the beautiful journey that is Etheres. It's colorful, and messy, just like life. The poetry is split into cadences to flow with the panels of the pages. It was amazing how some of the pages were borderless, panelless and still flowed so easily. It's a beautiful story, an emotional one.

I wasn't sure initially where the story was going or what type of resolution would come of her journey, but I was pleased to see it was gentle but vivid. It felt almost like a diary, watching her discover herself again. I used to journal a lot, and it sort of felt like looking into somewhere I shouldn't. But I'm glad I did.

Beautiful work team, thank you for this journey.

Eyes n' Daggers, 68 pages - Published by Unbearable Comics, (cc/ @Unbearablecomics)

One haunting day is all it took to turn Young Darshan's life upside down. Alongside a veteran Ghost Hunter Ravi Raghav aka "The Deathless Reaper", this meek guy from Mumbai city must navigate the realms of the Supernatural and Divine.

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

I saw this comic in the Forums here looking for feedback and was absolutely blown away by the quality in it, and just had to share it! I am a real lover of Ghost Stories to begin with, so getting to explore ghost stories, creatures, and the divine from a culture that I'm not familiar with, it's even better.

The story starts innocently enough until a not-so-innocent looking dinner changes everything. How can a dinner look not-innocent? Color. Color, mood, foreshadowing, everything is in this comic and it's handled very well. Color is something as a creator I struggle with, so seeing someone who uses it so well is a goldmine of inspiration. The chaos that ensues after said dinner is taken home and consuming is fast, thrilling, and ultimately, devastating to our lead character Darshan. He's not the typical hero, he's afraid and uncertain. He doesn't want to participate, but the Veteran hunter that saves his life is just as callous at first.

I love the direction the lore is going, combined with the stunning and gorgeous artwork, it's a must-read for anyone with a knack for the damned and the divine.

InterWorld, 46 pages - Published by Jin Amber, (cc/ @jin-amber)

The adventures of Liz, a cute talented tailor and his servant, Bennett, a most advanced android who travel between worlds.

Story and Art by Jin Amber

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

A wholesome story of a tailor who loves to help people, it's simply adorable AND fashionable! The art of this story is soft, clean, and so cute! It's clear the creator put a lot of love into all of the character designs, world, and story.

The only real issue I had was the lettering, which was inconsistent and oddly placed sometimes. However, I was easily able to overlook it and keep reading. It's episodic in nature and our hero Liz, has the most pleasant personality. I felt bad for him being bullied in the beginning, but his android servant Ben was right there just in time.

Jin Amber has many series, and this one has been on GC since some of the beta years. I wanted to feature this as it was one of the first stories I read on GlobalComix. It wraps up nicely, looks adorable, and feels wholesome! What more can you ask for? I've been following Jin's work since, and I'm happy to finally feature one of their series. I look forward to what you can create next!

The Space Between, 28 pages - Published by Wave & Squimoo, (cc/ @Wave-n-Squimoo)

The Space Between is a sci-fi adventure comic which takes place in a distant galaxy and follows Ferelith Caprical, a frustrated employee of an interplanetary conservation agency, and Vexen, a little freak even by alien standards, as they bop across the stars and find themselves in an increasingly tangled web of bureaucracy, violence, and affections. Updates are scheduled for every Friday, delays will be reported as they arise. This is not the day job for either of us, so please be patient.

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

The Space Between has been on my list to feature for a while, and it's simply a feast for the eyes AND written well. It's got an appropriate balance of humor and serious action, which is something I definitely appreciate.

Ferelith is clearly a no-nonsense but caring person, even if her job isn't very satisfying to her. One day she comes across Vexen, a species she's never seen before. Clearly Vexen has made some enemies along the way, and in order to protect them, things get a bit heated. Ok, a lot heated, like running for your lives heated. The action and paneling is creative, well done. Color and mood are used, along with humor along the way.

I don't want to spoil too much, however, The Space Between has been one of those series that I actively look for when I know it's update time. I've also been able to talk with the team and assist them with an analytics sit down. They've followed though on the things we talked about, which is amazing. Their hard work is really paying off and I wanted to surface Wave and Squimoo here for that.

If you love adventures between galaxies, with some humor, fantastical creatures, and aren't afraid to explore the unknown worlds of the galaxy, this comic is for you! Fantastic job, Wave and Squimoo, keep up the hard work! I eagerly look forward to your updates!

That's all for now, but we'll have another set of Fresh Friday reading recommendations next week. If you're looking for more recommendations, make sure to opt-in for our weekly reading list email!
