Feedback ^_^

It's my first manga/comic. I honestly never had time to make one, but I always had fun inventing stories.
With a full-time job plus a wife, I always thought finding time would be impossible. Anyway, thanks to AI, I could give life to my first few volumes. Each volume completely changes the story; it starts as a slice of life and changes into mystery and reality-bending in the second, life-coaching and personal evolution, 4th&5th are more sci-fi. I am working on the 6th one.

Right now, I uploaded only the first 3 just to know what people think about them (my English is not perfect, so I am still fixing some of the dialogue)

Tough to critique AI stuff, but I can tell you most of the backgrounds and objects look out of place. I does seem to be easy enough to follow and read though

Thank you for the critique. I am not sure I even see background or objects, but in the few scenes with a background, I can see that some stuff may feel out of place. I never thought it would be a problem as I focus on the story. Mostly, for me, the comic is like abstract art. You wouldn't say that the eyes are out of place in a Picasso painting as long as you understand the narrative he is trying to present.

I was trying to make it "easy to follow", as the story becomes very complicated once it progresses. However, I will try to focus more on the consistency of the background. Maybe I should remove it and work on backgrounds in Photoshop, similar to an art collage.

The other problem is speed. Doing art collages takes a lot of time. I do this in my free time (from a full-time job and family), and trying to keep the story going every 2-3 weeks is hard! To do 20 pages every 2-3 weeks, alone in my free time, forced me to make certain decisions. What is essential for me right now is to produce stories to put out there! But I appreciate the time you spent reviewing it ^_^ good advice that I would have never noticed myself.

Hi Chanting, on your video, where did you source the voices from? If I may ask?

Jacopo posted Mar 20, 2024

It's Lovo AI. IT is a bit tricky to get them as you want, but with a bit of patient and some tweaking here and there you can make them quite expressive

Oh, my name is Jacopo. Chanting is the default thing. Let me fix my profile a haha (I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what you mean by chanting

Sorry about your lost 10 minutes and thanks for the reply. I'll check out Lovo. I understand what you mean about getting expression in voices. I've played around with AI voices a tiny bit, but for me I run out of patience with that sort of thing. I guess I have audio limitations. Like some folks have visual art limitations, I'm not an audio guru. I've played with some voices from ElevenLabs and Murf for a promo video I want to make, but getting a just right voice is hard for me to do. Thanks for your time. Your results work fine in your comic.

It's tough. Some of the tricks are the speed of the voice and the pause. Putting a pause in the right spot helps a lot, but LOVO has a PRO voice that automatically adds a pause and tries to understand the sentence and interpret it reasonably. But it's good to regenerate the sentence at least 5-6 times and compare them. Some are much better than others, and like mid-journey it is good to have many tries and compare them. It takes a bit of time, but it does give the best results.

Regards! One day I'll get around to it.
