Is there a way to make the first issue of a series free but the rest paid content?
Basically what the title says. I'm trying to manage the monetization of my series and the closest thing it's letting me do is to make the first and last release free. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi there Cyork! You can do that in the Advanced settings > Monetization > settings or "Edit Licensing" section. You'll see a variety of options listed under "Free Preview Content section.
I suggest for what you'd like to do is select "Custom First x" and select 1. Make sure you save your changes!
Then I would also set your Default Access Model in the section below that to "Paid". This way the default model is paid and you determine which pages are free and change that versus changing things to paid. From there you can set up an expiration date for you paywall if you like. Entirely optional.
I also see that you have 2 releases already. Once you make those changes I've listed above, you'll see Release #2 update to being paid. We do recommend that you leave 5 to 10 pages free for releases as a preview depending on the length as a way to help encourage users to pay after you hook their interest!
