You need to fix the technical problems and take the subscribers consideration
1. Every time I open the app, it shows the guides meant for a first time user. "There's more to explore!..." and opening a comic "You are in panel-mode" - I just opened the app, and closed it and opened it again, and it happens every time. I have been a user for one and a half years. It's happened for several months now, and each time I have to switch to the one page view I USE EVERY TIME.
2. Why does the app know at which page I'm on, but the webpage doesn't? If I read on webpage to page 10 of issue 3, and later open the comic on the app, it goes to page 10 of issue 3, but when I go back to dektop, it opens issue 1 page 5 or something. Happens every time. It's really annoying.
3. With the wave of paid comics, it's hard to find out what is available for subscribers. There is a filter "Paywall", but when you click "Gold" it shows also all comics you have to buy. You need to make a clear page that isn't cluttered with stuff you have to buy. All "new" catagories are filled with comics you have to buy, but this is supposed to a a subscription service.
4. The search function has gotten worse in the last six months. And when you click on a comic on the search bar, it goes to the comic and only then shows whether you can read it, or have to buy it.
I have forgiven a lot of small problems with the site since I've thought that it was good for indie creators and publishers, but now that it's turning into a web shop for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and Kodansha, you really need to make the technical stuff work.
I fully agree with this comment, especially on how difficult it has become to find new issues available to Gold subscribers and the flood of comics that require an extra payment. The app was just about perfect for me until the addition of the paid component. I understand that you may need to make that pivot to continue the service, but there should be some more attention to the Gold Subscribers.
