Re: When is the best day/time of the week to release a new issue?

I tend to post on the traditional new comic day of Wednesday. Wether that is the right decision or not remains to be seen but as @ArtCrumbs has hinted at, I think the level of success you are likely to achieve has as much to do with the work you put into promotion more so than the time/day it is released.

Yes, I think you are completely right. Normally I don't tend to go back and dwell. Unfortunately my s pen fell into a glass of water the other day so I have had a bit of an unwanted break from working on the comic. I have, however, taken the time today to just do some drawings for the fun of it. Something I haven't done in a long while. It's been quite nice.

Biting the bullet - The Embodied

So I said quite a while a go that I would look to post in the feedback wanted section once I had built the nerve to. I have just released issue 7 of The Embodied and am open to some constructive criticism.

Though I am sure like many others I am precious about my work and no doubt have a fragile ego I recognise that the only way to get better is through fresh eyes and honest feedback.

I am all too aware of my flaws and look to strengthen these aspects but I am also curious what others may think. There are a lot of really talented people here, almost intimidatingly so, but this is why I know serving up my work here is the right move.

Those sound like some solid philosophies. Taking time to find the joys in life is something that can easily be forgotten in the break neck speeds of life but vital.

Thank you for your reply @ArtCrumbs. You have given a very thoughtful and elegant response as always. You raise some interesting strategies. The reminder that the only definition of success being the one you define for yourself is a good way to look at it. That said I think I can be my own worst enemy when it comes to that. I can have a tendency to put too much pressure on myself at times. I do, however, feel there is great merit in taking time to appreciate any goals achieved, however small they may be.

A little talk about good mental health.

As I beaver away on issue 7 of The Embodied, delayed due to illness, I have found myself a little ground down and thought why not discuss it openly. Though it is not uncommon during these periods to let the self doubt and imposter syndrome creep in, I have learnt over the last couple of years there is real power in not keeping it bottled up (a time honoured tradition I have been trying to get out of the habit of).

So I ask you fine people and creators, what are your ways of coping with the negativity of a human mind and the inevitability of imposter syndrome? I ask not to try and bring you down but in the hopes that we can all help each other to minimise the downward spiral and rise above knowing that we are all human. Who knows maybe your strategies can help a fellow artist to break out of the negative zone.

@MK-Wizard I have an idea of something to whip up that could be fun. Been working hard on issue 7 of my comic when my body allows me but I think it will be a fun exercise to break things up.

The Embodied - A Hero Team Title

I thought I would put a shameless self promotional post in here for now as I am not quite ready for the feedback wanted section. This is mostly as I want to wait until the first story arc is released in it's entirety before submitting for your keen eyes for helpful feedback.

As some of you may have seen across the forum already my debut comic on here is The Embodied. The Embodied is a team title about a group of teenagers with super powers. The first arc is best summed up as 21 Jumpstreet meets the Teen Titans.

The first arc is a 5 parter entitled "Some Like It Hot". I have just released issue 2 and have really enjoyed being a part of this community so far. I done a lot of research before choosing where I thought was best to first showcase my comic and I really feel so far that I made the right choice.

If you choose to give it a read, don't hesitate to let me know so I can thank you for your time. Though I have stated I am waiting to put myself forward on the feedback wanted section, please do not feel like you can not drop me a message with any helpful, constructive criticism you may have should something come to mind. I feel like this is a great community and I have no doubt that I will be a better artist and storyteller going forward for being a part of it.
