Cult of the Lamb, 26 pages - Published by Oni Press, (cc/ @GCpartnerships)
In partnership with Devolver Digital and Massive Monster, acclaimed writer Alex Paknadel (All Against All, Red Goblin) and Eisner Award–nominated artist Troy Little (Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas) comes a deviously delightful, heretic-smashing excursion into the sprawling cosmology of the worldwide, BAFTA–nominated video game phenomenon that IGN calls "adorably demonic"! In a land pervaded by cruelty and evil, the most innocent among us—young Lamb, the last of their kind—was selected to become a final dark sacrifice. Their death would forever seal the darkest of the Old Gods from our realm and usher in a new age ruled by the four eldritch Bishops of the Old Faith. So Lamb died . . . then forged a deal of their own.

I have been excitedly waiting to see this book on GlobalComix once I saw the Kickstarter campaign earlier this year. As a big fan of the game, they did an amazing job sticking to the artstyle of the game. That's a huge bonus for me. Paneling, lettering, everything is top notch, and I think it's a must-read for anyone who is a big fan of the game. I'm not even more excited for my exclusive foil edition to come in. Stellar work team, July will be here soon, and I can't wait for the next issue!
Beneath My Ribs, 124 pages - Published by Bambi, (cc/ @StickyRainyTroll223)
Far into the future, humanity has been made anew. Some children are born by their mothers, while others are sculpted and given the breath of life by God. Both groups live together in total peace. One of the clay children, a strange girl, lives on the edge of the woods, loved deeply by a devout boy, flesh and blood, from a powerful family. She questions herself, he questions his traditions, and somewhere hiding in the forest is something that will change their lives forever.

Chaotic, mysterious, unsettling in the best way are ways that I would describe this graphic novel. There's a deep hidden lore here, with players who aren't telling the whole truth. I love the creativity with two different types of humans, clay-carved and flesh and bone. It provides an interesting perspective on "humanity" but also how people treat each other differently. There's a dark cloud looming in the horizon, but I'll have to wait for the next update I guess! It's getting good, don't miss it!

When crime takes a turn for the weird, the police call Alexandra Trese.

I read the entire first book in one sitting, and this is a series that I want for my physical collection. I am not surprised at all that it's up for a Netflix Anime series, it absolutely deserves it. It's episodic in nature with a "supernatural beast" of the week, but there is a core underlying story to link them all together, the history of her father and grandfather. I know virtually nothing of Filipino mythology, so it's been a fascinating read. I hope this series gains more traction!

It sounds like the perfect place to work and live, minus all the suspicious spirits and not very peaceful late nights. If you like supernatural mysteries solved by a cohort of friends, this is the webcomic for you! It's very much got a nostalgic feel, like Scooby-Doo with the groupy feel of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., it's just a perfect series to sit down and binge read!
