Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

This session gets a little TOO real for these players! I've never actually played a session of Dungeon and Dragons before, so reading a book about it was something I have been keen to try. After reading the first issue, I can clearly see why the DnD gaming genre has completely taken off in recent years. Though, the characters in this comic were literally sucked into their game! I have to wonder if any players out there would -want- that, though? It's a fun concept and premise.

The artwork is bright and clean, easy to read with fantastic facial expressions. The humor is well-placed, and the sarcasm oozes at times, which I personally enjoy in a comic. I've only read the first issue, but I'm very impressed.

Sunny, 66 pages - Published by Ennun Ana Iurov, (cc/ @Ennun)

When an opportunity to get out of an unstable and unsafe lifestyle shows itself, it’s hard to ignore. Follow along as Mayhem learns more and more why it’s important to always take precaution in the kindness of strangers, while trying to keep himself and his little family safe.

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

With a name like Mayhem, you know it'll be a fun graphic novel! Adorable and whole little Mayhem just wants the best for his little found family. He's the embodiment of an older brother taking care of those around him, even if it means some questionable thing. I'm really pulled in by what lengths Mayhem will actually go to, to be able to care for his family. The "help" he has been offered is clearly not super genuine, something darker is going on. What will Mayhem's limits be? It's unnerving, but I'm so invested!

Game on Gemma, 75 pages - Published by Brandon Chen, (cc/ @BrandonChenMangaka)

Follow a young girl and her robot friends as she goes through the rough, but hilarious, life of being a gamer! Created by Brandon Chen with Art by Comipa & their studio, Inspired Productions

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

We've all been there, the queue is full, the people around you interrupting your games with requests, the "play to win" feels. This manga is full of shorts calling some of us out for the silly things that happen to just about every gamer at some point. You could say "that's a mood" to most of these, entirely and way too relatable. Plus Gemma and her little robot are adorable, the art is bright and dynamic and extremely well done too. A light read for lifting the mood! Great work to Brandon and his team!

Brain Breaker, 95 pages - Published by DAYcomics, (cc/ @Daycomics)

Crazy stories about gaming and fantasy world that will knock you out! The HERO wants the Queen!

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

I was entirely not prepared for this webcomic. The humor and frank unpredictability is what I love the most about it. It has not progressed at all like I thought it would, and that's the best part about this. It's wildly funny, with an exaggerated and extreme art style to match. I love the facial expressions, even the absolutely absurd ones. Lots of laughs, lots of relatable moments too. If you are looking for a fun comic with lots of content already, binge read this one!

That's all for now, but we'll have another set of Fresh Friday reading recommendations next week. You can also browse through our Featured Comics news section!
