We're starting off with science fiction, and the list has quite a few series you might be familiar with. There are also some titles that are relatively new to GlobalComix, so to see them already challenging for most popular is a great sign that fans are enthralled by their stories.

Killtopia is set in future Japan, and follows a salvage hunter called Shinji and his robot sidekick, Crash. Once word gets out that Crash holds the secret to curing a deadly nano-virus that’s killed millions around the world, every bounty hunter and Yakuza thug for 1000 city blocks joins the hunt for our heroes. Can they survive the night and change the course of humanity forever?

5. Black Beacon, 80 pages - Published by Heavy Metal, (cc/ @dezi)

There's an intergalactic space station out there bigger than our solar system that wants everyone to come along and meet up. The beacon made it sound like a utopia, but what Niko finds upon her arrival is a lawless expanse where everyone is out for themselves and she's so late she doesn't even have a seat at the table.

In the near future (2242) we manage to map dark matter - only to find out that it is 'Hell'. Cue carnage on a serious level as the devil himself seeks to wipe us out, but inadvertently grants superpowers to a loner guy who might just be the only thing that can then save us. Issue s#1 shows the world of 2242 and footage of a 'starlight bounce' action from the past...

In the year 2055, Detroit is a nightmarish city plagued by violence and fueled by corruption. Aiden McCormick tries to solve a series of brutal murders that must remain hidden from the citizens of Detroit. But Aiden has secrets of his own. He suffers from schizophrenia and if anyone were to find out; he would be forced to give up more than just his badge and gun.

It's a scifi-adventure comic set in a futuristic Galaxy with planet-hopping ships. Characters Captain Orange travels through Space in his Güd Ship while doing odd jobs for astro-colonies on varying planets. Boldour-Fisk is the 'bot developed to ensure the safety and well-being of all crew members of the Güd Ship. Lucky Star is the Güd Ship's mechanic.
