So basically this is supposed to be like YouTube, but for comics, huh?

Hey all, just joined because I wanted to support the site. The way I view the intentions for this site is that it's like Youtube, but for comics. That said the site is now up and running in beta, and yet the current selection for comics are minimal. Are there more coming, or is the site going to be dependent on would be creators? I image that the way to make this site most effective is to ideally have new comics coming out every few days from the start. Doesn't have to be anything big or professional, just short 2 page doodles on anything from mundane topics to world events or even about a person's life.

I understand the site is brand new and has only been open to beta testing recently but without a steady stream of entertainment available it has me a tad concerned. I feel a great way to make this site successful would be to ultimately end up imitating some of YouTube's model in respects to why people keep coming back to the site.  People these days expect and feel entitled to a steady stream of entertainment from the websites they visit.

Well with that rant all said and done.  My question for the site's creators is this. Do you plan to ultimately provide this steady stream of entertainment as is expected from users these days, and if so, what are the current plans for how the site will obtain a consistent stream of entertainment for users to view? I think your concept is great! My concern, however is content.

@Pezz570: The short answer is yes.

But it's a bit more complicated than that. Let me elaborate...

The content available is dependent on people signing up and uploading their own content. We don't actually publish any comics our selves, to the same point that Youtube doesn't (at least, didn't for a very long time).

That said, we're working on some content availability partnerships to kickstart the amount of consumable content, as well as getting ready to execute on outreach and creator acquisition. The tie-up has been time-splitting between that and some future-facing work that we consider required for an official "non-beta" full push.

Now... you mentioned you want to support the site ... which is great!! and something we welcome whole-heartedly. Perhaps you can help spread the word that GC is a great place to publish comics, graphic novels, and manga? ;-)

Lmk what you think!

Best,

Chris
