Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

Absolutely stunning comic with beautiful art, crazy world-building, supernatural elements, and creature design, this comic is a real visual feast. It's the perfect comic to read and get ready for all the spooky things coming up this month. I cannot wait for more from Husk. I read all of what's available in one sitting, it's just that gripping.

Do NOT sleep on this comic, fantastic work Al Acevedo.

Mimi enjoys a quiet, productive life in her tree house in the Flat Fields with her companion Bobo, until a mysterious and disturbing recurring dream of demons and a long-haired deity becomes impossible to ignore. In the Evergreen Woods live dangerous creatures who can help her, but will she leave the comfort of her home to find answers? An epic tale of affairs, alliances, and friendships in a quest for power and self-discovery, this collects the first three issues of Pizzo's acclaimed, self-published series.

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

A delightfully quirky and unique graphic novel. I love the artwork, and the lettering that's handwritten gives me such a nostalgic feeling, almost like I'm reading a personal diary of Mimi's adventures. The inkwork is fluid and black fills make it such a high contrast. I like the various textures used for the animals and backgrounds. It's different to what I typically read, manga, and it was just a total delight to experience. If you like wolves, animal stories, mystical journeys, or supernatural mysteries, this is the graphic novel for you!

Knights of the Lion, 158 pages - Published by Doodletoopia, (cc/ @Doodle)

Do you know your true worth? Your talents? Your birthright? Follow Princess Aurora Godfrid as she grows into her power as a witch, learns to trust her instincts, and take her rightful place as a leader. With danger at every step and heart looking for romance, will Aurora be able to make it this year at the Royal Magic Academy? A story of romance, adventure and friendship! Updates every other Friday!

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

Not typically what I expect from a manga, the character designs really stood out to me right away. A painterly style, and a girl with robin's-egg-blue hair, I just had to read more! It's an interesting concept, and a princess who breaks lots of rules is always a go to for me. Seeking out a past girlfriend doesn't go as planned, and Aurora has lots to learn on her quest to find her. I loved seeing this comic grow over the course of the series and I'm curious to see if Aurora will find her former girlfriend.

The Shapeshifter's Wife, 145 pages - Published by RAJ Illustration, (cc/ @RAJ-Illustration)

When a human falls into a cryptic world of monsters, she marries a local shapeshifter that very same day. She is trying to find her way back home in one piece. But who is this man who so quickly came to her rescue? What is under all of his shifting layers? The world of chiaroscuro is full of mysteries, from the graveyard from out of time, the grave keeper who found a human in a spot no human has walked in 400 years, to the ghosts that haunt their dreams. Updates 2x a month!

Comments from @ArtCrumbs:

Escaping into a dangerous nature reserve only to find yourself in a brand-new world has got to be terrifying! I know I would be scared if a magical talking bear was the first thing I saw after crash-landing. The paneling is amazingly dynamic, action-packed, coloring is bright and interesting. I didn't get to the point these two meet, only crossing into the new world, so I'll have to keep reading.

That's all for now, but we'll have another set of Fresh Friday reading recommendations next week. You can also browse through our Featured Comics news section!
