Soul Searching is based on the life of Alan Emtage, the inventor of the internet search engine.
In 1983, Alan Emtage left Barbados to study computer science at McGill University in Montreal. It was here, in 1989, while working as a systems administrator, that he created Archie, the world's first Internet search engine.
Alan went on to become a founding member of the Internet Engineering Task Force, where he chaired the working group that defined the standard for the Uniform Resource Locator (URL).
