Roewan Dogwood is now fifteen and living in the gutters of a class-divided city. the demonic parasite inhabiting her head has the singular goal of making her miserable. this is kind of piling it on, she thinks. Jaiden Winchester is the disappointment of her wealthy and accomplished family. on the verge of a stress-induced breakdown, her future looks bleak. when their lives collide, the two decide to run away in pursuit of a fantastical remedy for Roe's infection, and maybe they'll find the happiness that was taken from them along the way.
