North America, 2048. After a devastating series of climate disasters, a new nation is formed, where a diverse group of people encounter the challenges of establishing and maintaining a society that will endure and survive the climate crisis through solidarity, egalitarianism, and wrestling. Sylvia Grayber, an anthropologist, moves to the experimental city of New Cambridge and arrives for her first day at work at a research facility. There, she experiences culture shock as she becomes entangled in a rapidly-unfolding drama involving a mysterious stolen component, and municipal politics.
