If doing a sky is awesome, I can’t wait until you teach them how to paint buildings.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Around last month, I taught one of my younger students how to draw Mont Saint-Michel.
I haven’t drawn that episode yet—maybe sometime next year!(;ω;)

Agentny003
Way to add quantum physics to art. I never even thought about that. 😮
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
I always try to give my students the most accurate info I can.
Explaining this wears me out—so I always treat myself to ice cream after class. lol

Agentny003
A very basic start when it comes to doing landscapes. 😁👍

@Agentny003
Once they learn how to paint skies, their artwork really levels up.😄

Agentny003
The way you squeeze out the paint is the same way I do with toothpaste every morning and before I go to sleep.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Looks like a lot of people felt the same way you did.
It wasn’t until I read your comment that I realized this trick could work on toothpaste tubes too!

Believe it or not sometimes the water can play a role in a painting.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah, blending can totally change the color from what you expected.
I always do a quick test before putting anything on the actual painting.

Haiku Illustrations(Adult Class)
Agentny003
Looks like you’ve met your match in knowledge of art. Kanji is also another form of Japanese writing but if I’m not mistaken, it’s written vertically.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah, each of my students has their own strengths, and their personalities really come through in their work.
Class is always full of inspiration!
As for kanji, it can be written both vertically and horizontally—
but the calligraphy piece he brought in this time was written vertically.

Looks like someone is going overboard with the meaning of the leaves.
tamakimikesaka
>Agentny003
That was me.
In Japanese, we pronounce "leaf," "leaves," and "points" all the same — "happa."
I ended up explaining it in a way that was confusing for her.
I'll make sure to be more careful from now on.

Word of advice. Never argue against a woman unless you have all your points straight; otherwise you’ll lose the battle.
tamakimikesaka
>Agentny003
That’s a bit too optimistic.
Once a woman’s in full rage mode, no logic in the world will work.
I’ve never won against an angry female friend!(;▽;)
Agentny003
You left it at your house behind the computer. 😆

When I got home, I apologized to it. lol

Being ambidextrous is rare. I use both my hands for different things. on the board I use both to write.

I really want to get better at using my left hand as well...

Blending can also lead to creating Gradients.
tamakimikesaka
<font style="vertical-align: inherit;"><font style="vertical-align: inherit;">>Agentny003
Yeah, I’m pretty good at blending deep, rich colors.
But I struggle with highlights and lighter gradients.
You, on the other hand, seem to have a real talent for them
—your lightning and shimmering water are absolutely stunning.
That’s one of the things I love about your art!

Lighting and shading are the two most important key elements in colorin; without them there are no details. As for the boundary lines, you’re right.
tamakimikesaka 7 months ago
@Agentny003
I usually start by teaching details first, then follow up with lighting and shading together.
The method you mentioned—teaching lighting and shading first, then adding details—sounds like the grisaille technique. That approach might actually be easier for my students to grasp. I’ll give it a try in the next lesson.
