96. ◆How to Draw the Face of a Sphere(2/2)
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
You’ve never had a cream puff???
It’s a round pastry filled all the way with custard cream.
In Japan, the ones that are half custard and half whipped cream are super popular.
They’re really sweet and insanely good.
You can get them in Hokkaido too, so if you ever come, you’ve gotta try one!
Agentny003
@tamakimikesaka: I’m in
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
96. ◆How to Draw the Face of a Sphere(1/2)
Agentny003
Yup let’s see if I’m right about it on the next page.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Next up, I’ve gotta explain the horizontal axis!
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
95. ◆How to Fix a Distorted Circle
Agentny003
Of all my years as an artist, one the things I learned; art is full of surprises.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah, I feel the same way.
I get the most excited when I finally understand how each art method really works.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
94. ◆How to Draw a Circle
Agentny003
Why not? The more, the marrier.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah. They get along really well.

92. "Hell" Picture Book
Agentny003
Remember not compare the kiddies with teenagers. Getting the picture isn’t a good idea.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
I feel the same way.
Just like the four students in my class, each with their own personality, there’s no such thing as a “stereotypical” person.
That’s why I never liked the Hell Picture Book trend.
But they enjoyed it — and honestly, I was relieved they didn’t find it scary.

91. Volume Number Trap in Japanese Novels
Agentny003
You were confused because you read the third volume without reading the second one. The reason two wasn’t in the shelf was because someone else was borrowing it.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah, exactly.
The person who borrowed Volume 2 probably had trouble finding Volume 3 since I had it checked out at the time.
I still remember feeling relieved that I returned it right after finishing it.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
90. It's Snack Time(2/2)
Agentny003
@tamakimikesaka: Similar to how you have a powerful bond with your “Cat Version” of yourself and the kiddos.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Hehe, that's true!
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
90. It's Snack Time(1/2)
Agentny003
Well it’s true relaxation helps the brain function more when active later on.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah, same here.
I try to stay relaxed too,
though I’ve got this bad habit of cramming my schedule and stressing myself out. lol

89. Tips for Eating Snack Foods
Agentny003
Seriously? Then again everyone has their style of eating snacks. 😄
tamakimikesaka
@Wirecats
You should try crushing stick-type snacks too!
@Agentny003
When I eat round potato chips, I use chopsticks.
You should give it a try!

88. How to Separate Trash in Japan
Agentny003
I strongly agree.That’s why I love your country. it’s super clean. I too support recycling as I do it in my house all the time. Unfortunately, where I live in the minority of those who care about recycling.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
I hope people in your area start recycling more too.
Agentny003
Imagine how wet and smelly that garbage can will be once the bag gets taken out. 😄
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
When I say that, the kids don’t even imagine it, but I do.
I take more emotional damage than they do, lol.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
86. ◆The Shadow of a Cube
Agentny003
Some things never change. 😄😁
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
I think his reslience is amazing.
But I'm worried it might break again.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
I should totally show them that kind of manga.
I’ve got a few comics by Panpanya, and the textures really feel like pencil work.
I’ll bring those to the next class and show them.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Kenji Tsuruta’s comics also have that pencil-like texture.
Kinda hard to decide which ones to show them, lol.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
83. ◆Shading with Dark Pencils
Agentny003
@tamakimikesaka: yeah. depending on where the light is coming from.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah, I might need to make another episode to really show them how important light direction is.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
82. ◆How to Draw the Faces of a Cube
Agentny003
Shading makes the details pop out more, kiddos.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Exactly. Next, I’m planning to teach about shading after surface texture. With some models, it’s better to draw the shading first, but teaching how to tell the difference is really tricky.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
81. ◆Details for Drawing in 3D
Wirecats
I have learned so much from this comic, thank you
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Thank you so much!
@Wirecats
Thanks for enjoying this comic!
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
80. ◆Two-Point Perspective
Agentny003
@tamakimikesaka: oh I meant when I saw the panels with the two vanishing points: it looked like a mirror effect when they were aligned oppositely.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Ah, that makes sense now!
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
79. ◆One-Point Perspective
Agentny003
One step at a time kiddos. well done on the building; very impressive.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Thanks!
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
78. ◆How to Hold a Pencil
Agentny003
Interesting way to learn about solid shapes.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
This is where it all begins.
Mikesaka Art Class (◆Episodes are about art methods.)
77. ◆How to Draw the Outline of a Cube
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
With that method, we could draw a three-dimensional cube. I think what you are referring to is a four-dimensional cube.
A three-dimensional cube has a distinction between the outside and inside, so a vanishing point is necessary. However, a four-dimensional cube is a highly flexible cube that allows the outside and inside to be freely interchanged.
Therefore, we do not believe a vanishing point is necessary.
Agentny003
@tamakimikesaka: I see.
Agentny003
A good way to practice drawing inferstructure.
tamakimikesaka
@Agentny003
Yeah. I'm going to teach kids that method thoroughly from now on.
This series will run until September 26.

It’s a lot to memorize, but with passion and practice, it’ll be a doozy.
tamakimikesaka 3 days ago
@Agentny003
Yeah, they’re practicing it every day.
Their drawings are improving, and they’re growing more and more too.
I absolutely love watching that.
