While exploring an old abandoned house, Catie finds something strange. A cursed VHS tape that traps their soul inside an old children's cartoon. Now living their life as a cartoon cat, will Catie be able to escape this strange place filled with allure and lies, or will they end up staying in this fantastical new world even if that means forfeiting both their memories and identity?
Well, this IMO was a nice 'filler' chapter, but it somewhat felt 'off' too, like some characters getting a 'personality change' toward 'adulthood' (can't put it any better)'. And the whole setup exceeds what should be possible within the given house settings.
Mother wearing a modern red dress...? Hum...
The 'best friend' scene... IMO was gold.
Catie obviously seems left-handed, judging by the way she holds the pen, spoon etc., and the knife in the Backwards House scribbles in the Wiki.
This is so cool! i love how you can see everyone show off their strengths within the little minigames! i hope it comes into play in a more pronounced way later on, With the lighting and perspective drawings, this was worth the wait!, as always. keep up the good work!
I noticed that Catie has the light in their eyes on page 6, has their eyes closed for the entirety of page 7, then doesn't have the light on page 8. They forgot midway through the game show but still remembered a moment from their real life (breakdancing) later in the comic.
Also I noticed that the characters' eyes were drawn in a different style for a more humorous look in a lot of panels. But I don't think it's just because it's funny, it's a clever way to hide the characters' eyes without actually covering them up. If the characters' usual eyes aren't there, we can't see when/if they remember. However the panel right before the panel of Catie in real life, we can clearly see that Catie does NOT have the light in their eyes. They remembered anyways.
While hiding the eyes is only necessary for Catie and Emp (as their the ones who remember), all the characters are drawn with the simplified eyes. This is likely just so it feels more natural and stays consistent between characters.
Not sure what any of this could mean but the curtains are never just blue. This was all intentional.

And unlike most others, I usually contribute valid questions, assumptions and observations about both plot and characters, instead of just 'cheering/praising', 'requesting more' and some such... or calling others 'haters' just for pointing out obvious stuff.
As to finish the Catie 'gender' thingie, when you first saw the character in chapter 1, did you immediately think, "Yes, definitely non-binary", did you think, "That must be a male tom-cat" or did you think (probably like everyone else) "That's a female kitten"? Also, all house characters refer to each other with he/she/him etc. during the chapters, which implies that they all have a defined gender. So when Shy Shark referred to Catie as 'they' when first seeing her, this felt more awkward than reasonable.
If you want a non-binary character for whatever reason, fine with me, but then design it appropriately (talking abuot looks, personality is only 2nd). This is just my own personal opinion, no more, no less.

Bananas are not offensive. Funky Monkey is an ape, apes eat bananas, so the assumption was perfectly logical. But it clearly shows (and probably was supposed to) how crazy the world has begone, to see valid assumptions as offensive...
now i get why this chapter get a little more of time(also there was the vcation thing, but let's ignore that fact) do dance moves in a comic is hard, it's really really hard to compose this and get well
