While exploring an old abandoned house, Catie finds something strange. A cursed VHS tape that traps their soul inside an old children's cartoon. Now living their life as a cartoon cat, will Catie be able to escape this strange place filled with allure and lies, or will they end up staying in this fantastical new world even if that means forfeiting both their memories and identity?
This is amazing. I love how od dog is getting more involved in the story. I also love how quickly the story is progressing, there's no filler episodes. As usual the artists did amazing work and skynix did an amazing job writing the story. Good job everyone who worked on this comic so far!

Okay I was not expecting that ending but my theory after this chapter is that we know in the notebook Od-Dog drew one last detailed monster before it shifted to kids drawings so my guess is either Od-Dog forced himself to forget about getting out and what his life was before after getting the key or Mother found out first and forced him to forget and took away the key
And, did you notice that every animal child seems to have one special 'accessory', a yellow bow, a red bow, a necklace, a cylinder hat, a wristwatch etc. and/or some 'personal trait' that went into their animal character (e.g. Od-Dog loves to draw/paint, so he has colored freckles and pawpads, or Curious Cat's real name being CATie), so what the other animals are probably refers to something from their Real Life too. Which makes me wonder how Funky Monkey could have been captured by that Cursed TV if he is blind in Real Life (at least that's what is suggested)...
Also, the easiest and most straight-forward way to escape might just be to ask Shy Shark to rip off the planks from that door and then break it open with her strength, or to search for a crowbar in the storage room, instead of trying to face a nightmare just to get a special key...
About the 'shine' in some character's eyes (in contrary to 'dead' eyes)... it's probably just that when you loose yourself in fun and play, in the imagination of being a kid again, being surrounded by friends and playmates, with no worries in the world, you will probably never want to leave and thus forget who you have been (but I actually loved that 'Hide and Seek' part the most). ;)

I would have actually gotten that plush, but they charge me $30 for the plush plus $10 postage outside of US AND $7 import tax, without dropping the US tax... $47 for a plush of an unknown character just to support a comic alas is too much, I think. Non-US customers are clearly at a disadvantage here. You could at least give a rebate for your readers.

Then someone scribbled out Od-Dog's name from his sketchbook, so he forgot everything. This also explains how Empathetic Elephant knows "if you forget your name, you forget everything."

@Dorianmakescomix: Maybe, I just think that Od-dog was the first one that arrived, and the reason that the memories are ‘wiped’ is because mother doesn’t want him knowing what is up in mother’s room, so when the others arrived, she erased their memories as well. I am sorry for the long ahh comment.
a elephant is strong right? so the nightmare up there must be WAYY stronger than all the children combined with the exception of claws(just fist fights) elephant will team up with curious cat and using their brains, will TRICK the nightmare, not KILLING it.
All of this makes sense, it adds up... all but one thing... why does the doorman (the nightmare) work with Mother to guard the key? We have seen that these nightmares are hostile, even towards Mother, so why is one working with them? This comic is so good- Take a break if you need it- keep up the amazing work!

BTW, it has been proven that Emphathetic Elephant is NOT the strongest, since Od-Dog was able to drag him along like any other kid. Shy Shark is the strongest, she didn't budge an inch when Posh Pine tried to get his arm free.
It's also strange that mother guards the door to the exit from the Nightmares instead of the kids, and why Empathetic Elephant actually _knows_ that this is the exit.
It's possible that Empathetic Elephant kept his memory because he is reading so much, and might have seen his name somewhere ini the text. Or he just tries to hide his pupils from mother. That the 'first arrival' kept their memory does not fit the story, because Catie already had her memory wiped upon arrival, and only Empathetic Elephant brought it back by confronting her...

Elephants are known for their hearing and.... their memory. We don't know how he knows its an exit- i doubt its really as simple as that, if it were me i would bait a nightmare into breaking down the door. so i bet the door isn't the exit *exactly*. its just another step.
@Locks: I don't think they "die" perchance, i think they just wake back up in their bed- or maybe mother finds them? Either way we are shown that catie has a physical body- and that they are aware of it while asleep. We also know from the first comic that they are hungry, so my bet is its a race against time to escape before they starve to death. and all the other children have "died" in real life. the only reason why Empathetic would still be fighting it would be to help save others, like cattie, who still have a chance at escaping.

@ironimationz: Well, did you notice, when Catie looked through Od-Dog's sketchbook, above the Nightmare he drew (before the drawings change to child doodles), there is the word "DOORMAN". Raise the brightness if you can't see it.
Personally, I still think it's the wrong approach. They should better try investigating that 'broken corridor' next to Catie's room, or try to climb downward there with a rope. How do the rooms not crash down anyway if there is no real foundation and support structure beneath it...?
Anyone notice the fact that in the scene where we see the bathroom everyone has a toothbrush in their color (ex. Curious cat’s is black missy mouse’s is teal foxtrot’s is pink etc.) but one of the toothbrushes is orange there’s also a letter for every character in the 1st installment’s title card but one letter is orange , it’s not another kid because we saw all the rooms and none were for a kid associated with orange. So who’s the person who is associated with orange?
@AliBgurl12345: Mother? Shy sharks is white, so I wouldn’t be surprised if orange would be mothers that way they don’t get mixed up. I am not completely sure, but I feel like it would be mothers.

@Skynixfan000: If he did get past it, and Empathetic Elephant knows, they must have been trying to escape together. Then someone scribbled out Od-Dog's name from his sketchbook, so he forgot everything. This also explains how Empathetic Elephant knows "if you forget your name, you forget everything."

@Gy7vvv: The way everyone else lost their memories, they just forget, although I wouldn’t be surprised if mother did wipe his specifically because he made it past the doorman into mothers room.

@Dorianmakescomix: Maybe, I just think that Od-dog was the first one that arrived, and the reason that the memories are ‘wiped’ is because mother doesn’t want him knowing what is up in mother’s room, so when the others arrived, she erased their memories as well. I am sorry for the long ahh comment.

All of this makes sense, it adds up... all but one thing... why does the doorman (the nightmare) work with Mother to guard the key? We have seen that these nightmares are hostile, even towards Mother, so why is one working with them? This comic is so good- Take a break if you need it- keep up the amazing work!

Once again, does anyone else think that 'mother' has a striking resemblance to the 'tall woman' from the "Otherside Picnic" manga chapters 5 / 6 ?
BTW, it has been proven that Emphathetic Elephant is NOT the strongest, since Od-Dog was able to drag him along like any other kid. Shy Shark is the strongest, she didn't budge an inch when Posh Pine tried to get his arm free.
It's also strange that mother guards the door to the exit from the Nightmares instead of the kids, and why Empathetic Elephant actually _knows_ that this is the exit.
It's possible that Empathetic Elephant kept his memory because he is reading so much, and might have seen his name somewhere ini the text. Or he just tries to hide his pupils from mother. That the 'first arrival' kept their memory does not fit the story, because Catie already had her memory wiped upon arrival, and only Empathetic Elephant brought it back by confronting her...

@GrabbingIntricateOwl945: As shown in the comic, they are given the attributes and ability's of the animas they were turned into. Catie has night vison- etc... Elephants are known for their hearing and.... their memory. We don't know how he knows its an exit- i doubt its really as simple as that, if it were me i would bait a nightmare into breaking down the door. so i bet the door isn't the exit *exactly*. its just another step.

@Locks: I don't think they "die" perchance, i think they just wake back up in their bed- or maybe mother finds them? Either way we are shown that catie has a physical body- and that they are aware of it while asleep. We also know from the first comic that they are hungry, so my bet is its a race against time to escape before they starve to death. and all the other children have "died" in real life. the only reason why Empathetic would still be fighting it would be to help save others, like cattie, who still have a chance at escaping.

@Algae: also I just realized, I think I know the reason for the Broken hallway next to caties room AND the reason the “basement” door is all boarded up AND why mother guards it at night. I think it’s because when od-dog went into mothers room and got the key he gave it to someone else who escaped and when mother found out she got rid of od-dogs name in his sketch book making him forget everything. and for the broken hallway I think that’s where the person who escaped room was and mother broke the hallway so that everyone would forget about that person. to me it just seems obvious so I wouldn’t be suprised if someone else made that theory before me lol

@ironimationz: Well, did you notice, when Catie looked through Od-Dog's sketchbook, above the Nightmare he drew (before the drawings change to child doodles), there is the word "DOORMAN". Raise the brightness if you can't see it.
Personally, I still think it's the wrong approach. They should better try investigating that 'broken corridor' next to Catie's room, or try to climb downward there with a rope. How do the rooms not crash down anyway if there is no real foundation and support structure beneath it...?

Anyone notice the fact that in the scene where we see the bathroom everyone has a toothbrush in their color (ex. Curious cat’s is black missy mouse’s is teal foxtrot’s is pink etc.) but one of the toothbrushes is orange there’s also a letter for every character in the 1st installment’s title card but one letter is orange , it’s not another kid because we saw all the rooms and none were for a kid associated with orange. So who’s the person who is associated with orange?
