Episode 1
Roultale
Roultale
What is the original concept behind it?
This is an alternate Undertale universe in which the characters have been partially reimagined. All the key heroes here serve in the army of Rouldis — the monster state.
The origins of this system go back to the distant past, to the time after the war between Humans and Monsters. After their defeat, the Kingdom found itself in a dire situation, which led to the emergence of a pronounced militaristic mindset in monster society. The military enjoys great respect, and every child from an early age dreams of one day joining the service of their state.
This way of life developed out of fear of a possible second human attack — or perhaps in anticipation of a future retaliatory strike by the monsters themselves.
The comic’s plot tells the story of Frisk, who fell into the Underground and faced numerous hardships. However, the real danger does not come from the monsters… but from the humans on the surface. In the future, the comic promises to reveal what trials await Frisk and who exactly poses a threat to her.
Issue 1
$¢|¯!q✝tale
To better understand its essence, it’s worth noting that during the early stages of development and inspiration, the project was called Zombie-tale. This is a universe where, for unknown reasons, monsters stopped dying.
However, this trait didn’t affect everyone, and unfortunately, it only made things worse. The Underground had already gone through multiple timelines, in which the protagonist repeatedly slaughtered monsters without consequence. But this time, things were different. The protagonist could still inflict physical harm on monsters, yet for some unknown reason, most of them stopped dying and were doomed to spend the rest of their lives in pain and suffering, gradually losing themselves.
The comic’s story unfolds after these horrifying events. The protagonist, who once possessed the power of saving, disappeared, and twenty years have passed since. One day, a new human falls into the Underground. They will have to confront the harsh and desolate reality of this world and try to escape… or perhaps find a way to save everyone.
Issue 2
Fintale
The events of this story take place in a relatively distant future—just as classic setups go. Frisk falls into the Underground and meets monsters there, gradually growing close to them and forming friendships.
As Frisk spends more time in the Underground, disturbing details about its inhabitants begin to surface. In particular, a mysterious illness is revealed, slowly affecting all monsters. Its symptoms manifest through changes in appearance: over time, monsters turn into pale, silent, and frighteningly emaciated beings. By the time of the story, only a small number of those who once retained their original selves are left.
After some time, an unknown entity enters the Underground, performing strange and unsettling actions. Eventually, Frisk confronts it in battle but is defeated and falls into a deep sleep.
When she awakens, she finds herself already an adult in an unusual place. At first glance, it still seems like the Underground, but now it somehow contains an entire city with high-rise buildings, streets, and roads for various types of transport. It is later revealed that Frisk had been unconscious for about a hundred years. What she will have to face in this changed world, the comic promises to reveal in the future.
