A gambling Jack-the-lad falls in love with a well-to-do hot-headed lady and creates a family, but when war and persecution jeopardise their safety, they learn the extraordinary lengths and distances they’ll have to go to just to stay safe… We also parallel this story by telling the Vietnamese Creation story about Lac Long Quay, the dragon king, defeating a fairy chieftain, and falling in love with his beautiful fairy daughter, Au Co.
