Hector Alvarez is a newly promoted detective in the border city El Paso, Texas and on the scene of his first case. The grisly homicide sets Hector down a path through existential dread and horrors where the void of disillusionment seems never ending. On the other side of town Marisol Trevino, your average 17-year high school student looking to win the affection of her crush and preparing for the life in front of her. That's until tragedy strikes, and unintended consequences begin her descent into the terrors of the unknown. Hiding in plain sight amongst the sea of humanity and slow march of time, Gods, the supernatural and unseen forces work to shape the world in their image. Life for all its beauty is short, brutish and cruel on its own. The mercurial nature of humanity is difficult enough; the Gods need not add to the flames of humanities worst impulses.
