Young Billy Hatton watches his father, Cyrus Hatton, wander off in a stupor, whereupon he gets into his car and crashes into a nearby bridge. The Phantom Stranger appears and decides to investigate this spectacle.

Jody Cahill and some friends sneak into his father's amusement park after hours. They find one of the workers dead on the ground, and the Phantom Stranger appears and warns them about stumbling around through the park.

While out in the tropics, Dr. 13 and Marie witness a ceremony where a man is sacrificing himself to Tala, a death god that the indigenous people worship. When Dr. 13 tries to debunk their beliefs as superstition, he unleashes Tala upon the world.

Wild Rose, Spartacus, Mr. Square, and Attila are out on the beach when suddenly a man rushes out of the water and drops dead. However, when they go to get help, on their way back the dead man is gone.
Issue 6

Mr. Square, Wild Rose, Spartacus, and Attila are once more looking for a place to crash for the night, and witness what appears to be ghost activity at house number 13 on 13th Street, which is owned by two old women.

Mr. Square, Wild Rose, Spartacus, and Attila are heading to Vulcan Castle, but along the way their sailboat is attacked by Tala, who is once more fought off by the Phantom Stranger.

Terrence Thirteen and his wife, Marie, are asked to come up and investigate sightings of ice giants in the north on behalf of the Muttson Oil Company when the firm's owner is frozen in a chunk of ice.
Issue 9

While on vacation in a Caribbean country, Dr. Thirteen is called on by the president, who believes that local practitioners of voodoo are targeting him to scare people into following their religion.
Issue 10
The Phantom Stranger (1969-) #10
Three young girls are gathered in a nightclub, and one of them is invited to dance with a man called Tannarak. Shortly after, the girl drops dead, and her death brings both Dr. Thirteen and the Phantom Stranger to investigate the situation.
Issue 11
The Phantom Stranger (1969-) #11
A strange triangle shape in the sky has appeared over various cities of the world, and people are suddenly snapping into violent and antisocial behavior before vanishing without a trace.
