The Village That Forgot Spring
After crossing an ancient torii gate deep within the snow-covered mountains, the wandering samurai Yurobi arrives at a secluded village where an unnatural silence hangs over every street. The villagers are polite and welcoming, but their smiles conceal exhaustion, fear, and traditions no outsider can understand.
As night falls, Yurobi witnesses the village obeying a series of mysterious rituals—bowls of steaming rice are placed outside every home, every lantern is extinguished, and no one dares answer a knock at the door after sunset. When an unseen visitor mimics the voice of the innkeeper's deceased wife, Yurobi learns that the mountain is ruled by ancient rules that no one dares break.
With the toll of a distant temple bell, strange silhouettes emerge beyond the cedar forest, watching silently from the darkness as the village surrenders itself to another terrifying night. Though Yurobi survives his first encounter, he realizes that the true horror is not what lurks in the snow—but the fear etched into every villager's soul.
As dawn finally breaks, one question remains:
What are the villagers feeding... and what will happen if the offerings ever stop?
