With Karla still unconscious from the poison, Arutneva travels to colonial Havana in 1863 seeking the most powerful sorcerer of the era: Colonel Andrés Petit, master of the Abakuá brotherhood and keeper of ancient Yoruba traditions. But the Inquisidor has gotten there first, unleashing a dark curse on Andrés and his enemies to stop them.
