While exploring an old abandoned house, Catie finds something strange. A cursed VHS tape that traps their soul inside an old children's cartoon. Now living their life as a cartoon cat, will Catie be able to escape this strange place filled with allure and lies, or will they end up staying in this fantastical new world even if that means forfeiting both their memories and identity?
od-dog & curious cat are going to talk in the library in the next chapter, maybe od-dog would remember and he was really important in chapters: 3, 6, and 9, so chapter 12 he's going to be important again .
1. Od-Dog was most likely too eaten by the Doorman when he first tried to enter Mother's room and then respawned, otherwise he would not have the picture with an open-mouth doorman in his sketchbook.
2. There are several inconsistencies. If Elephant really wants to sacrifice himself, the most logical thing would be to share his real name with the others first, just in case, and they should immediately write it down in case they forget when he forgets. There is more than enough paper in a library, and if they don't have a pen/ink, they could have used Od-Dog's blood.
3. Mother's actions are not really that logical. What will the other children say when they see Elephant eye-less? Also, how is Mother going to bring Elephant to bed when she can't enter any of the children's rooms? And will Elephant be 'whole' again in case he re-spawns later? And does Mother not know that 'other past events' from Real Life can restore memory, too?
4. The Nightmare in the corridor was the same one Mother killed a few chapters earlier (and VERY thoroughly). What gives? Do they re-spawn too? Theory about 'good kids' become cartoon animals and 'bad kids' turn into Nightmares?
Apart from that, IMO ripping someone's eyes out is a biiiit too much for my taste. I follow the comic because it has cute characters and a captivating mystery story, not because I expect it to turn into a splatter feature.

Elephant didn’t know that they could respawn. If he did know, it was probably by word of mouth or he died. BUT, since elephants remember well, he would remember if he did respawn. Also knowing that they have lives, after this death, he will probally have 2 lives left. HOWEVER, catie is a cat, which is rumored to have nine lifes. So the respawning could either happen only to catie, and elephant will die officially, or have the lives applied to everyone, and have elephant survive the death.

Although this is just a VERY WILD guess, when I mentioned Monkey taking off his glasses in a scribble drawing at the Backwards House Wiki page, and showing that he actually had eyes instead of 'holes'... in that scribble, Monkey looked kinda _surprised_. So maybe, just maybe, this showed Monkey after 're-spawning' and getting his eyes back?
Being 'whole' again after dying is also proven when Catie wakes up in her bed after getting her head bitten off and her body taking severe damage... all gone as if it never happened.
However, provoking a 're-spawn' would make the story even more gruesome... oh well.

I also kinda wonder why no one ever tried to 'manipulate' Mother... even though she goes as far as physically hurting the children to 'keep' them with her, she also does seem to genuinely 'love' them (in a weird kind of way).
So why has no one yet tried stuff like approaching her and saying, "Mother, I just remembered my real name. I still love you and want to stay with you, but I must know the truth." ... I guess she would indeed have talked then instead of acting hostile.
