Khajad is dead. But now she's alive again.
So what's the catch?
She has no memory of her past, no explanation as to why she has magical powers or why she must hide her peculiar white demon wings from society.
Her mother, Yunika, thinks it's best to avoid answering any of Khajad's questions. For now, they must figure out a way to escape what is certain to become their icy graves at the Peak of the World. Together, they venture to find a place called "home" and a means of living a normal life.
But can their lives ever really be "normal?"

Khajad is dead. But now she's alive again.
So what's the catch?
She has no memory of her past, and no idea why she now has demon wings that she needs to hide from society. Unfortunately, her mother, Yunika, is the only one with all the answers and she hasn't been terribly helpful. Instead of giving her daughter straight answers and explaining that Khajad will be killed on sight if anyone sees her wings, Yunika lies and makes excuses in order to avoid the subject entirely.
Yunika is more focused on important things like fleeing the past as far as possible, trying to pretend like nothing weird happened and trying to have a normal life.

However, he's a colossal asshole with something that they want.

In the worst catch-22 ever, his visitors can't free him unless he tells them why he's been banished in the first place and he refuses to tell them why he's been banished until they free him from prison.
What lengths will these mortals go to in order to get the knowledge they seek and will it even be worth it in the end?
