Volume 1
Ra No Tabi Volume 9: The Emerald Launch
# Chapter Synopsis – Ra No Tabi Volume 9: The Emerald Launch
After falling asleep at Thoth’s Archives with Volume 1 still unfinished, Eugene Addison is launched into a cosmic dream mission by the glowing Emerald Launch Tablet. Suddenly, the most unpaid baboon in the archive becomes the first baboon in space — powered by peanut fuel, questionable approval stamps, and absolutely no proper training.
His dream carries him to the moon, where lunar footprints spell his name and the archive doors open for him. There, Eugene meets Ptah, the mysterious creator-father who reveals that Eugene was not abandoned from the story — he was still being shaped. Through Ptah’s moon workshop, Eugene learns that creation is responsibility, and that a maker must build what tells the truth, not what makes him look heroic.
But the dream soon turns into temptation. A fantasy game becomes the archive, hero masks appear, and Eugene is tempted by recognition, fame, and easy answers. With help from Doo-Mie, Tabby, Thoth, and Anubis, he learns to separate wonder from false wisdom.
The lost tablets, mythic files, and Emerald Tablets all lead to one final clue: Volume 1 is not about becoming a hero. It is about telling the truth.
Eugene wakes at his desk with emerald dust on his hands, a maker’s mark on his badge, and one terrifying realization:
The dream may be over, but the record still has to be finished.
And yes, the deadlines followed him back from the moon.
