In a post-apocalyptic world, a young human girl is brutally murdered by bloodthirsty monsters. The Rangers Nightshade and Moonsong are called to investigate, but not before the vicious vigilante Pagan finds the monsters and exacts ruthless vengeance. In a politically charged society battling human injustice to other species, will the actions of a few gifted individuals be the spark a murdered human girl needs to start a civilization ending war?
