After escaping from an underground lab in New York, Henry runs into a street kid named Joel. Joel thinks Henry is high, and that it's his fault. He agrees to take Henry to a half-way house for help, but is thwarted by a police presence outside the home. He's forced to take Henry back to is apartment instead.
Has Joel made a horrible mistake in taking Henry home?
The boys have a rough night. Henry reverts back into Sral while he’s sleeping and Joel has a horrible nightmare. Joel discovers that Henry’s not human, and Henry discovers that Joel can start fires with his mind. Pushing for answers, Henry discovers that Joel has been abused and vows to help him.
But what then?
After an exciting night, Henry needs to call his dad and Joel remembers that he forgot to do something the night before. An important something that he’s probably in a lot of trouble for. Henry reassures him that his life in New York is over and once they collect Joel’s sister Mandy, they’ll head home to Detroit.
Unfortunately, that thing that Joel forgot the night before comes knocking...
