Comic - Horror
The Dirty, the Filthy, and the Dead is a four-part miniseries rendered in black and white. DFD is a horror comic aimed at mature readers who enjoy perverse humor or would clamor to watch an episode of Seinfeld directed by David Lynch. At the TranquilStay Inn and Suites, a class of former Thunderbolts, “Once a thunderbolt, always a thunderbolt,” gather for an unanticipated reunion. Larry Deal, aka “the Big Deal,” attends with his wife, displaying his patented selfishness and arrogance. Bernice Dunlap, a member of the planning committee, joins them, along with Larry’s old pal, Bobbie Kincaid, aka “Blobby.” But unbeknownst to the attendees, at the center of the chaos to come, an enigmatic figure named Ralph – one part George Carlin, one part John Wayne Gacy. From the start, things are askew. Attendees are unable to remember graduation. Despite the lack of celebratory décor, drinks, on the other hand, are free and plentiful. Then Ralph appears as the master of ceremonies. One thing is known: he is not one of them. And yet, he knows everything about those in attendance and unleashes a wave of insults and criticism. But more devastating, he showcases their past sins in a series of stage plays, each more absurd and horrific than the next.
