To crack a cold case, deadbeat P.I. Mike Hammer squares up against a maelstrom of supernatural forces whilst trying to save his partner’s cursed soul from damnation, and claw back what remains of his own sanity.
Plunging into the murky depths of Nanapush Cove, Hammer uncovers a shocking truth: Deadmen are up and walking! But in this strange place, no one's as they seem. Behind the friendly faces lurk darker secrets.
The supernatural curse tightens its grip over Nanapush Cove as a group of thrill-seeking teens break into a haunted house, hoping to capture the ghost of a dead criminal on camera. But their ghost hunt takes a twisted turn when the undead serial killer Crazy Jack, now a vengeful golem, brutally attacks.
Meanwhile, Hammer nurses more than a broken nose as his deceased partner Tongues' restless spirit abandons him to wander the ethereal realms of the storm-struck town looking for answers.
With the supernatural connection between the Wendigo and Necromancer broken, Kaskey, the local lawyer, is returned to her normal state and taken to a nearby hunting lodge by one of the golem for safe keeping.
Meanwhile, Hammer and Tongues bash out some old conflicts whilst attempting to make sense of the deepening case in Nanapush Cove.
The Wendigo soon returns to recapture Kaskey and then rampages through town devouring several locals in its wake.
Hammer pays a brief visit to a local church and wishes he'd never made a pledge to find the killer of his best buddy, Tongues.
Hammer discovers that his favourite ride has been miraculously repaired overnight, and what's more, the sun is splitting the pavement for the first time in Nanapush Cove. This HAS to be a good omen, right?!
Wrong!!!
Hammer decides to leave his ghost-pal Tongues locked away in the motel room and makes a break for it. Even the idea of returning to Portland is better than tackling the madness in this crazy seaside-town! But it doesn't take long for the Devil himself to show up and offer Hammer an out that even he couldn't refuse.
Hammer decides to take time-out from chasing after golem and ghosts by retiring to his motel room for some serious shut-eye. Sgt. Pekawan takes Tongues to her only living ancestor on the reserve, her blind grandfather and shaman. She hopes to help Tongues become corporeal using powerful ancestral magic... and peyote! Meanwhile the Wendigo rampages Nanapush Cove gathering seemingly innocent victims for more of its sick and twisted rituals.
