London, AD 1599. Stellah - a stacked 13 foot, four-armed enforcer with a super huge weaponised tongue - wades ashore. At an upstairs Tudor window she tastes consent, mists the room with a DNA-sleep vapour, and slips a sleeping man into a cloak pocket. Two half-cut locals gawp; one volunteers himself, the other whispers Sir Halberd. Stellah melts into the fog. On the riverbank, the Order of the Shlokk confronts her: Sir Halberd, Knight-Marshal and Pursuivant of Covenants, with his wary Yeoman. Muskets fail. Stellah palms Halberd to his knees, then vanishes via a limen jump to Depot Twelve, a node in the earth-shell under the council UAMACONS. Assay of her phial flags god-flesh contamination and a likely culprit: Bridellah, a UAMACONS coder turned rogue harvester running an off-book chamber in the city vaults, returning men “yang-spent” and diminished. Authorised - and nudged by Eko, Depot Twelve’s acoustoquant - Stellah drops through Pye Corner into Bridellah’s lair: tiled corridors, men hanging on walls. A fluke surge of water floods the service tunnel; Stellah arrives hard, and arrests Bridellah in a cloud of deep water slaps. Bridellah's favourite man frees himself, swims up, and is met by Halberd and the Yeoman. Stellah drags her captive through the holding spring to a dimensional portal, marching Bridellah over the threshold for booking. 24hrs hours later, UAMACONS audits Team Stellah. Above, in the Yeoman’s public house, Halberd, the Yeoman, and the recovering 'Bridellah' groom debate the Knight-Marshal’s growing, forbidden fixation with Stellah. That night, Halberd meditates on his muse: dreaming of other worldly alliances. Far below, Bridellah faces her mirror’s scorn and begins plotting her next move.
