ECLIPSE ASCENSION Chapter 1: The Last Ranked – Synopsis In the year 2089, mysterious rifts unleash monsters upon the world, forcing humanity to rely on powerful Ascendants, each born with a permanent Core Rank. Among them is Kai Ren, a 19-year-old F-Rank known as "The Liability." Despite being the weakest of all Ascendants, Kai risks his life entering rifts to support his hospitalized younger sister. Assigned to a routine Level C Rift mission with Team Nightfang, Kai expects another dangerous but manageable operation. Instead, the team accidentally activates a hidden mechanism that reveals a forgotten chamber deep within the dungeon. There, they encounter the ancient Stone King, whose overwhelming power seals the exit and traps everyone inside. Declaring the beginning of the Trial of Worth, the Stone King announces that only the worthy will survive. As fear spreads through the squad, Kai faces the impossible choice between surrendering to fate or fighting against overwhelming odds. With his sister depending on him, he refuses to give up, unaware that this deadly trial is about to change his destiny forever.
