Purp, a young girl, and her adoptive mother attempt to fufill their dream of making pilgrimage to see the light of a star. Madness At True North was completed in under a month to be submitted for a manga contest. I worked on another 59 page one-shot manga simultaneously for which I had completed the writing and storyboards and handed off the art to another artist (This contest had a 59 page limit). The story and art components of this work were incredibly rushed and I do not believe they are indicative of my current skill level. Despite the glaring flaws I have shared the work here in the same condition as it was submitted for the contest. Excuses aside, I hope someone manages to enjoy this work, and I'm curious to see what thematic interpretations people might come up with. Thank you for reading, please look forward to my future works!
