Chapter 1 follows Syd, the boy/dog, set in the 1940s.
Chapter 2 follows Lexa the daughter of the family, set in the 1950s.
And Chapter 3 follows Snare, the titular father figure of the family, spanning from the early 1900s to the 1970s.
