As governments struggle to maintain control, angry crowds storm the Vatican to seize ancient sacred books rumored to hold forbidden knowledge. When three mysterious defenders reveal supernatural powers and massacre the attackers, the world learns the truth: the Vatican’s hidden tomes contain the secret of Essentia, a power that unlocks a human’s higher self and grants abilities beyond imagination. Nations wage devastating wars to control these “God’s Tomes,” and the planet is left shattered under a single ruling superpower. Eventually, the knowledge is released to the public, allowing anyone to obtain the power of Essentia. But the promise of equality quickly turns into something darker.
