With rebellion, awareness is born, says Albert Camus. Rebellion has always been the beating heart of our artistic work. We believe that it is more important today than ever. We, that is JUW & HATH. A long time ago we started as a team. With this graphic novel our work as a team ends. When the first version of it came out of the printer, my partner JUW died unexpectedly. JUW was the most talented media poet I ever knew. All his life he was the crazy boy who did everything he could to disrupt the world's routine. “Dance for your Life” is a neo-expressionist story told across multiple time periods. The work on it went through many different steps and phases. After the first drafts of the story, we used an AI image generator to create more than 10,000 sketches. If this is a no-go for you as a publisher, please stop reading HERE. If not, let me say that after the first step, with the generated sketches, we began to create our story against the impulses of the AI, using it as a trigger for our creativity and making it a tool for inspiration. All in all, it was an artistic process, a dialectical struggle between algorithms and human storytellers. The result is... very German, very dark, very complex.

2028. A series of brutal murders of vaudeville dancers puzzles female police officer Lenny. The victims all performed in Hades, whose owner, Daron Miller, seems to be obsessed with the dancer Anita Berber, who lived 100 years ago. Lenny distrusts both him and his choreographer, Eduardo Gardi. When their new dancer Veronica appears on the scene, Lenny falls in love with her and the two begin a relationship. Veronica, however, also researches the events connected with Hades without Lenny's knowledge. Her information is sold to a company that feeds data into an A.I. called Eternity. Lenny continues to investigate Daron Miller and discovers that he is a great-grandson of a man who betrayed Anita Berber 100 years ago. And then Lenny learns that Veronika is a direct descendant of Anita Berber and has been working towards a confrontation with Miller. It seems as if a conflict that had its roots 100 years ago is being played out in Lenny's present. But then the present shows glitches and errors. Lenny finds out that the world in which she conducts her investigations only exists within a computer. A world that only exists in A.I. Eternity. The murders of the dancers, Daron Miller and his Hades, Lenny's passion for Veronica, all of this is part of an artificially generated world that is traveling in a spaceship to save human heritage for another time. Lenny's feelings are nothing but digital currents... and yet she can feel them. Her love for Veronica... only the product of an algorithm, and yet painful for her. Her investigations reveal that within the artificially generated world of the Hades crime case, a dangerous system error has occurred that Lenny is supposed to detect and fix. But for her, fixing the error would ultimately mean eliminating Veronica...
