In Issue 3, "ADAPTATIONS" of Joe Plant Comix, Joe has headed out into the world to begin his mission to restore damaged ecosystems. During the process, he befriends a hummingbird and a bumblebee who become his constant companions; taking refuge in his leafy crown. His travels also serve as a journey of self discovery as he learns how to interact with animals and plants as his sentient peers. And not always with a successful outcome. But he's learning. He also has to deal with an additional aspect of his new plant physiology and seeks the Strange Plant who transformed him for answers.

The plant has combined some of its DNA with is and as a result it has given him the s ability to grow plants at will as well as communicate with other species. He travels the world to try and restore damaged and dying ecosystems while battling with adversity that tries to continue to destroy the Earth. His goal is to help heal the Earth. Follow him along on his ambitious journey while trying to achieve his goals.

That is until an odd duo turns up in his shop one day, an encounter that would completely overhaul his life.
A random encounter and false pretenses may not be the most conventional job offer. Still, Jase didn't hesitate to accept the position as a serviceman for a notorious intergalactic pirate crew. The new job does give him a fair shot to indulge in his all-but-forgotten dream of adventure.
