Mankind finds itself at war with one another over limited resources worldwide, as political terrorism rises and territories encroach on each other. As if things aren't bad enough, a small of percentage of human beings spontaneously evolve, developing super powers which render them virtually invincible. Some use their powers for good, while others use them for selfish gain, crafting schemes to pillage and destroy. These evildoers band together to form Dark Phase, harnessing the power of the Dark Spores while awaiting the arrival of an even more dangerous menace from deep space. But all is not lost, as a group of heroes band together to collectively thwart their plans and save the earth from ultimate destruction.

While the year 2059 isn't a full-on dystopian hellscape, it could be better. One would think you'd need a hero in dark times like these. Not so.
