While the year 2059 isn't a full-on dystopian hellscape, it could be better. One would think you'd need a hero in dark times like these. Not so. End of Earth Days
By Livhuwani Nevhushoma
What would you sacrifice to survive the end of the world?
When the last bombs fell, the Earth froze in fire and silence. Cities became skeletons of ash, oceans turned to ice, and nations vanished in mushroom clouds of their own making. Yet from that ruin, fifteen thousand souls endured — not in bunkers, not in cities, but aboard a single moving machine: the End of Earth Train. Built in secret before the war, endless in its length and merciless in its order, the train circles the frozen globe without stopping. Its steel holds the last echo of humanity… and its steel is cracking.
Inside the train, society is divided by walls of iron and hunger. At the front, the Engine Council rules with polished boots and sharpened tongues, deciding who eats and who starves. In the belly of the beast lies the Tail, where men, women, and children live in shadows, fed scraps from the tables of those who call themselves civilization. Between them stand the guards — armored, ruthless, and sworn to keep the peace with batons and bullets.
But peace is an illusion.
When new ration cuts are ordered, the fragile balance collapses. The Tail refuses to bow again. Hunger becomes fury, and fury becomes rebellion. A spark is lit in the dark — led by Naomi Reyes, a scarred survivor who believes silence is a slow death. With her stands Lucan Briggs, a broken fighter who craves one last war, and Zara Chen, a medic torn between saving lives and saving hope. Against them are Captain Kaine and his guards, ready to break bones for order, while the Council itself fractures between mercy and cruelty.
