Just a goofy adventure

Purp, a young girl, and her adoptive mother attempt to fufill their dream of making pilgrimage to see the light of a star. Madness At True North was completed in under a month to be submitted for a manga contest. I worked on another 59 page one-shot manga simultaneously for which I had completed the writing and storyboards and handed off the art to another artist (This contest had a 59 page limit). The story and art components of this work were incredibly rushed and I do not believe they are indicative of my current skill level. Despite the glaring flaws I have shared the work here in the same condition as it was submitted for the contest. Excuses aside, I hope someone manages to enjoy this work, and I'm curious to see what thematic interpretations people might come up with. Um jovem acorda para mais uma rotina como trabalhador no Brasil. O despertador toca cedo, o corpo ainda pesado, mas a mente já acostumada com a pressa do dia a dia. Ele se levanta, e pega sua mochila de entregas, sabendo que mais um dia longo o espera. Como entregador de pizza, ele conhece bem as ruas, os atalhos, os bairros mais perigosos e os clientes mais estranhos — mas, até então, tudo fazia parte da rotina. Naquela noite, porém, algo parecia diferente. O pedido chega já tarde, quando a cidade começa a silenciar e as luzes vão se apagando pouco a pouco. O endereço é incomum, localizado em uma área afastada, quase esquecida. Mesmo achando estranho, ele aceita a corrida — afinal, precisa do dinheiro. Durante o trajeto, uma sensação estranha cresce dentro dele. As ruas vão ficando mais vazias, o sinal do celular começa a falhar, e o silêncio se torna incômodo. Quando finalmente chega ao local, ele percebe que o que está ali — não deveria existir. Seus olhos se arregalam, o coração dispara, e a realidade que ele conhecia começa a se desfazer diante de algo impossível.
