It's 1958 and C.O. Cooper's first day at "The Needle." The notorious island prison, his new partner, the single inmate he's guarding - they all stink, the horror of the place barely hidden. If he can keep his head down, if he can ignore the atrocities, maybe Coop will see his beloved wife again.
